It exists to put creative software in more hands. A teenager in Lagos, a film student in Buenos Aires, a coder in Hanoi and a designer in Berlin can run the same app, on the same terms, with the same accessible tools. The download is the whole thing, with no commercial-use fee and no per-seat pricing.
Free software lasts when people look after it. The next step is gathering a community around Kinematic and setting up a nonprofit foundation to look after it for the long run. The goal is simple: free today, and free in twenty years.
